‘Prima’ will be one of Sabbia Gallery’s most important exhibitions, and will present the new work of some of Australia’s most influential and innovative contemporary artists working in the diverse mediums of studio glass and ceramics. The days of art versus craft are long gone and this exhibition demonstrates just why our artists are considered some of the best in the world. They are leaders in the international glass and ceramics movements and this will be a unique opportunity to gain a greater insight into this exciting area of contemporary art.
Each March Art Month celebrates the vibrancy and diversity of contemporary art in Sydney by throwing open the gallery doors and presenting over 200 exhibitions and events.
In conjunction with Art Month Sydney 2013 and in celebration of Sabbia Gallery’s eighth birthday we would like to invite you to join us and our artists for a champagne reception at the opening of Prima, an exhibition that presents the new and innovative work of the gallery’s stable of glass and ceramic artists. You will have the opportunity to listen to and speak with many of Australia’s finest artists including Les Blakebrough, Lisa Cahill, Matthew Curtis, Janet DeBoos, Ben Edols, Kathy Elliott, Simone Fraser, Ben Sewell, Emma Varga and Nick Wirdnam.
