Klaus Moje is one of our most important glass artists and is considered the ‘grandfather’ of Australian studio glass. He has taught and inspired hundreds and continues to be a great influence in the international studio glass movement.
Since 1969 Klaus Moje has been involved in over 100 group exhibitions in Australia, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan and the USA.
Klaus has been the recipient of some of the most prestigious awards during his career as an artist and mentor, including an Honorary Officer (AO) in the General Division of the Order of Australia, the Australia Council Emeritus Award, the Urban Glass and Glass Art Society’s Lifetime Achievement Awards, and the Rackow Commission at Corning Museum of Glass in New York.
His work has been included in hundreds of private collections and over 60 public collections world¬wide including the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney, the National Gallery of Australia, Musee Art Decorative in Switzerland, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, Kunstmuseum Düsseldorf, Germany and the County Museum of Art, Los Angeles, USA.
