Richard Whiteley Exhibition Floor Talk

Richard Whiteley is considered one of Australia’s premier sculptors working in cast glass and has dedicated his studio practice to cast glass, having spent many years developing his techniques.

Richard Whiteley is a sculptor who explores negative space with cast glass forms. His working methods are unique as his works are composed from voids. He says of his working process: \”The voids are organised first and external structures are built to encapsulate these spaces. The works explore space – using glass as a substrate activated by light.\”

Richard will walk us through his solo exhibition ‘Mass’ at Sydney’s Sabbia Gallery and will discuss his new work, his career as a glass artist and his working processes.
