Jeffery Mincham and Nick Mount have just been announced as finalists for The Waterhouse Natural Science Art Prize in South Australia. Since 2002 this biennial prize recognizes the long-running interplay between scientific research and the creative arts, from the illustrators and sculptors who help to describe and depict specimens, to contemporary artists who invite us to think about our environment and our impact on the natural world. The prize ‘encourages artists to make a statement about the scientific issues facing our planet and offers a valuable platform for them to contribute to the environmental debate.’ The exhibition will take place at the South Australian Museum from 13 April to 10 June 2024, with the winners to be announced on April 11.
