Liam Fleming, SOLD - Transitory Form #20, 2024, mould blown glass, coldworked, fused and slumped, 600 h x 360 w x 320mm d

Sabbia Gallery is delighted to announce its representation of Australian artist Liam Fleming.

Liam Fleming is a Tarntanya (Adelaide, South Australia) based glassblower, artist and designer with an active practice of over ten years. Technically trained as a production glassblower, Fleming’s art practice is characterised by his unique sculptural objects. His work is often an expression of his interest in the complicated relationship between craft, art, design and architecture.

Fleming’s successes as a glassblower, artist and designer resulted in him being awarded the prestigious 2021 Guildhouse Fellowship, which will accumulate in an exhibition at Art Gallery of South Australia in late 2023. His works are held in private collections both nationally and internationally and in the public collections of Art Gallery of South Australia, Adelaide and National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne.

More recently, Liam has exhibited with us in a group exhibition in 2023, as well as a solo exhibition at Sydney Contemporary 2024 where all works were acquired. His works utilise the amorphic/liquid quality of glass – fusing forms together and working with the melt point to create sculptural forms that defy gravity as they melt.

We are looking forward to him working on a new body of work for Sabbia in the coming months. Please contact us on gallery@nullsabbiagallery.com if you would like to be added to the waitlist.
