Annette Blair – Australian War Memorial Commission

Congratulations to Annette Blair for the newly commissioned artworks installed in spiral stairwells in the Australian War Memorial. The two glass sculptures constructed in hot sculpted glass, hand-made by Annette Blair at Glassworks Canberra, transform the space into a place of remembrance and peace, reflecting on the history of war service in Australia. Both artworks were commissioned by Canberra Glassworks for AWM and made specifically for this location, which joins the new Main Entrance foyer to the original structure. The artworks are based on the colours of sunset and sunrise, and each work contains approximately 900 glass eucalypt leaves. Images: Adam McGrath for Canberra Glassworks
