We have just received a new collection of artworks from Dr Cathy Franzi, just released from her studio. These works follow on from her recent sell-out solo exhibition here at Sabbia in 2025. Cathy is an accomplished ceramic artist with an interdisciplinary practice in ceramics and botanical sciences. Her extensive knowledge of Australian plants and ecosystems infuse her work, her aim being to represent each plant’s character in a graphic and expressive style. Printmaking inspires her approach to imagery on the clay surface, experimenting and adapting ceramic techniques to reference relief, etching and screen prints. She has recently been awarded an Artist Member of the International Academy of Ceramics, a highly prestigious international award, and is included in major collections both here in Australia and overseas.
