Presenting Lauren and Kass Hernandez

SABBIA broadens its artistic landscape, welcoming the expansive sculptural fibre practice of Lauren and Kass Hernandez into its celebrated program of Australian artists.

Sabbia has long been recognised for presenting the finest Australian and First Nations artists working in glass and ceramics, alongside a growing commitment to fibre practices over the last eight years. This presentation marks an exciting expansion of that vision.

Lauren and Kass Hernandez unveil a powerful body of large‑scale sculptural and installation‑based fibre works, complemented by more intimate pieces that reveal the nuance of their collaborative practice. Together, they extend Sabbia’s artistic realm and deepen the gallery’s engagement with contemporary fibre art. Their work celebrates material knowledge, experimentation and cultural continuity, offering an immersive experience that broadens Sabbia’s dedication to Australia’s most dynamic artists.

This body of work will be shown at Sabbia from 15 April to 9 May 2026, with the launch in conjunction with the long awaited solo exhibitions Possible object by Tim Edwards and Suburban Squall by Chrystie Longworth.
