After her sell out exhibition in 2025, Sabbia is pleased to present this highly anticipated solo exhibition by ceramic artist, Cathy Franzi.
Cathy Franzi is one of Australia’s leading ceramic artists, living and working in Canberra. Cathy’s work uniquely looks at the intersection between ceramic, botanical science and relief techniques drawn from printmaking. Botanical research is fundamental to the integrity of Franzi’s work, informed by her first degree in science and her ongoing engagement with botanists through volunteer work and during artist residencies. In 2025 Cathy was the recipient of the Lanyon Art Prize and was awarded highly commended for the Siliceous Award for Ceramic Excellence. In the same year Cathy was granted membership into the International Academy of Ceramics.
