CLAY STORIES
Clay Stories is a significant survey exhibition of contemporary artworks in ceramics that have been created by both highly established and emerging Indigenous artists in remote parts of regional Australia. The exhibition presents pieces that are both sculptural and vessel-based, with each body of work representative of the artist’s connection to country and as a strong medium for story telling.
Sabbia Gallery have worked closely with the Ernabella Arts studio since 2011 and have held a number of highly successful and comprehensive exhibitions with many of their finest ceramic artists in that time. We are now pleased to be presenting this exhibition which will further demonstrate the innovative artwork being made in ceramics by the diverse group of artists from across Australia; Ernabella Arts in the APY Lands, Erub Arts in the Torres Strait, Girringun Aboriginal Art Centre in Far North Queensland, Hermannsburg Potters in the Central Desert and Tiwi Design on Bathurst Island.
