Connected Light: Glass, Lineage, and Connection
Connected Light brings together glass artists whose practices are bound by family ties, shared heritage, and intergenerational exchange. This exhibition traces how knowledge, technique, and sensibility move through families and close relationships — shaped by lived experience, passed between generations, and reinterpreted through each artist’s distinct voice.
Glass, with its capacity to hold memory and transmit light, becomes a natural vessel for these connections. The works reveal how artists influence one another across time: parents and children working side by side, siblings and partners sharing material understanding, and long‑standing creative families evolving together while forging their own paths.
Rather than presenting glassmaking as an isolated pursuit, Connected Light foregrounds the bonds that sustain it. These artists show how lineage can be both grounding and generative — a source of continuity, a catalyst for experimentation, and a reminder that creativity often begins in relationship.
This exhibition celebrates the families and kin networks whose shared practices illuminate new ways of seeing and making in contemporary glass.
