Sabbia Director Anna Grigson brings together a dynamic group of artists whose practices reveal the remarkable versatility of clay. Each artist approaches the material through their own lived experience, cultural inheritance and artistic vision, resulting in works that speak with distinct voices while sharing a commitment to thoughtful, expressive making.
For this exhibition, Anna has invited five artists whose diverse backgrounds and perspectives shape the way they form, glaze and articulate their ceramic surfaces. Though united by an interest in sculptural presence, material nuance and visual storytelling, each artist’s work carries a unique rhythm and sensibility. Together, their pieces form a compelling conversation, one that celebrates the depth of contemporary ceramics and the many ways clay can hold memory, meaning and imagination.
