Jordan Gower is a South Australian ceramic wheel thrower and Head of Ceramics at JamFactory, Tarntanya/Adelaide.
He holds an Honours degree from the University of South Australia (School of Art, Architecture & Design), following a BVAD from Adelaide College of the Arts, TAFESA, specialising in printmaking. Gower subsequently retrained in ceramics through JamFactory’s Associate Program and over the decade following firmly established himself as a successful ceramic production artist; providing bespoke tableware to acclaimed South Australian restaurants such as Restaurant Botanic, Muni and Penfolds Magill Estate Restaurant.
In September 2026 Gower presented his highly regarded first institutional solo exhibition at UNSW Galleries, reaffirming the value of handmade objects and demonstrating the scope and ambition of his early-mid career practice. Gower has undertaken residencies throughout Australia and Asia, including Singapore (Instinc), Japan (Studio Kura), Tasmania (Ridgeline Pottery), Victoria (Phil Elson Pottery) and South Australia (Carclew; Nexus). His work and professional development have been supported through grants from Arts South Australia and CreateSA (2019, 2026). In 2017 he won JamFactory’s Drink Dine Design Emerging Designer Award. In 2025 he was a finalist in the Siliceous Award for Ceramic Excellence and in 2026 a finalist in the North Queensland Biennial Ceramic Awards.
