Sabbia Gallery presents our greatly anticipated annual Masters of Glass show. This year’s show titled LUMINARIES is an important exhibition which presents the foremost artists from New Zealand working in the medium of cast glass : Galia Amsel, Emma Camden, Christine Cathie, Evelyn Dunstan, Robyn Irwin, Ann Robinson and Layla Walter.
As a group they demonstrate the strength and diversity of glass art within their country. The process of glass casting is a unique way of creating contemporary studio glass which is synonymous with New Zealand. These exhibiting artists are internationally acclaimed leaders in this genre.
All seven of the invited artists have a sympathetic relationship with their environment. They are incredibly attuned with New Zealand’s indigenous history and the unique landscape they reside in. Their remarkable artworks significantly demonstrate this.
