Revere is an important exhibition that explores the relationships and conversations that occur within the glass art community in Australia, and the impact that these influences have on the artists’ practice. This influence may be found in many ways, such as through friendships, studio partnerships, collaborations, or with artists that work with the medium in a similar way or aesthetic.
Sabbia Gallery’s artists, Ben Edols & Kathy Elliott, Kirstie Rea, Richard Whiteley and Nick Wirdnam, have been selected for our 2014 annual Masters of Glass exhibition. They have been asked to invite a glass artist whom they would like to exhibit with. Someone who inspires them in some way, whose work they are excited about, or someone they have a close personal or working relationship with. These invited artists are Mel George, Harriet Schwarzrock, Brian Corr and Laurel Kohut respectively.
